Marco Ribeiro | Founder & General Coordinator

The visionary who turned a “no” into a global movement.
Marco Ribeiro is the driving force behind the Goalkeeping.pt ecosystem. With a career dedicated to sports management and an unwavering passion for the “art of defending,” Marco was responsible for identifying, more than a decade ago, a critical gap in Portuguese football: the lack of elite, specialized training for goalkeeper coaches.
Challenged by the demands of high performance, he envisioned and brought to life the International Goalkeeper Congress, transforming it into the largest event in the world in this field. His leadership is defined by a unique ability to build bridges. He is the one who connects academic theory with the reality of top-level competitions, bringing names from the Premier League, La Liga, and the Bundesliga to Portugal.
Today, as Director of Goalkeeping.pt, his focus is on the expansion of the Academy and the continuous certification of the profession, ensuring that every coach has the tools to define, defend, and dominate.
